Job TitleEnergy EngineerJob Description SummaryThis position will work with the client's Environmental Sustainability team to develop and implement Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction initiatives to align with client's Net Zero commitment. The successful candidate will drive energy management strategies within the client's real estate portfolio, with a special focus on data center energy efficiency. The position will require a demonstrated passion for environmental sustainability. The role will report to the Account Director.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement strategy for operations and design projects to meet client's science-based target and Net Zero commitmentsEngage and collaborate with data center team to drive emission reductionsComplete regular energy audits and commissioning scope of works for global real estate portfolioAct as subject-matter expert to client's real estate team and key suppliers as requestedReview and approve all proposed equipment specifications to ensure the success of client's Net Zero commitmentComplete regular energy consumption checks and root-cause analysis of any energy anomaliesLeverage data to implement predictive energy savings strategiesContribute toward internal and external sustainability goal settingResponsible for communicating strategy and metrics to clientParticipate in and maintain documentation of client meetings and workshopsDevelop an understanding of client's supply and value chainRepresent C&W with professionalism and cooperate with other C&W personnel to achieve goals and objectives as to quality, service, cost, and profitMaintain high qualitative and quantitative standards of work performanceStrive constantly to improve skill and work knowledge; keep up to date in the field of specializationAdhere to corporate, building, and client policies and proceduresKEY COMPETENCIESClient focus Sustainability & energy management Project Management Communication proficiency (oral and written) Data analysis and report-building Technical proficiency Multi-tasking Consulting Organization Skills Time ManagementMINIMUM EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in relevant field, preferably engineering.MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS5+ years' engineering experience practicing in a relevant fieldOperational expertise in demand-side management, environmental sustainability, emissions reduction strategies and carbon removalOperational expertise with data center energy efficiency or emissions reductionFamiliarity with interval data and energy meteringADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSManaging junior/mid-level employeesProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferredGreen accreditation (LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, etc.) preferredAssociation of Energy Engineers CEM preferredFamiliarity with Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) softwareFamiliarity with HVAC Optimization softwareProject management, budget tracking and forecasting experienceFamiliarity with lighting, HVAC, controls, plug load and refrigeration systemsProven leadership ability, administrative ability, technical background, and project responsibility experienceWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
