Job Summary

ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION: Photogrammetrists perform image assessment, point selection, mensuration, triangulation, orthorectification, dynamic range adjustments, and processing in order to produce image products. They increase the relative and absolute positioning accuracy of imagery from sensors to support mono and stereo exploitation. These analysts assess, evaluate, and extract elevation data from stereo imagery. They provide in-depth technical expertise to customers, review products, and ensure that final products can be generated to meet customers' accuracy requirements.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Photogrammetrists perform image assessment, point selection, mensuration, triangulation, orthorectification, dynamic range adjustments, and processing in order to produce image products. They increase the relative and absolute positioning accuracy of imagery from sensors to support mono and stereo exploitation. They provide in-depth technical expertise to customers, review products, and ensure that final products can be generated to meet customers' accuracy requirements.

Band 3 Photogrammetrists:

Perform image assessment, point selection, mensuration, triangulation, orthorectification, and processing to produce standard and non-standard image products. Increase the relative and absolute positioning accuracy of imagery from a variety of sensors to perform mono and stereo exploitation. This position may be eligible for an INCENTIVE: The selected candidates may be offered an incentive as part of the offer of employment, based on budget availability. To receive the incentive, the selected candidate must sign a service agreement depending on the approved amount or duration of the incentive. If the employee leaves before the end of the service agreement, the employee may be required to repay a pro rata share amount of the incentive to the government.

Mandatory Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online applications must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement:

* Demonstrated experience with precise imagery specific products and services such as Digital Point Positioning Database (DPPDB), Controlled Image Base (CIB), or Orthorectified Commercial Imagery (CI-Ortho).

* Demonstrated experience using GEOINT Analysis or Photogrammetry-related exploitation software such as, but not limited to, SOCET GXP, ArcGIS, QT Modeler, Active Earthscape, or ERDAS Imagine to create, analyze or review geospatial data.

* Demonstrated experience using GEOINT Analysis or Photogrammetry-related exploitation software such as, but not limited to, SOCET GXP, ArcGIS, QT Modeler, Active Earthscape, or ERDAS Imagine to create, analyze or review geospatial data.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate ongoing work and findings to leadership and others through written, visual, or spoken reports and briefings.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Cartography or a major that included, or was supplemented by, at least 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework in Cartography and/or directly related Sciences and related Mathematics. Coursework may include Astronomy, Cartography, Computer Science, Geodesy, Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Land Surveying, Photogrammetry, Physical and Geological Oceanography, Physical Geography, Remote Sensing, or a related discipline. The 30 semester (45 quarter) hours must have included at least 6 semester (9 quarter), but not more than 15 (22 quarter), hours of college level non-business mathematics or statistics (i.e., college level algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or scientific mathematics or statistics requiring equivalent college-level courses as prerequisites). -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework as listed in option A, plus experience in the Cartographic field that includes the application of mensuration techniques, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses; Stereopsis ability; Far visual acuity of 20/60 or better binocular with or without corrective lenses

Highly Desired Qualifications

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:

* Demonstrated experience applying skills associated with scripting, programming, or software customization.

* Demonstrated experience applying skills associated with computer vision or machine learning.

* Demonstrated experience working with Department of Defense or US Combatant Command elements.

Additional Job Requirements

You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.

Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, and/or unescorted access to SCIFs.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY: Promotion opportunities allow applicants at all band levels to be considered. Qualifications for NGA positions do not include specific time-in-band requirements. NGA will emphasize quality of experience, rather than duration, and assess how the quality of the experience demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance in the NGA occupational structure.

Band 03 $64,948 - $120,342

APPLICANT EVALUATION PROCESS: Applicants will be evaluated for this job opportunity in three stages:

* Best-qualified applicants may then be further evaluated through an interview process.
