Status: Full-time, Onsight Department: Parks, Recreation, and
Public Areas Maintenance JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of this position
is to supervise and work in the construction, repair, and
maintenance of City streets. Responsibilities include supervising
and assisting a crew in completing assigned projects, including but
not limited to street maintenance, sidewalks, bridge maintenance,
sign maintenance, and equipment repairs. Work is performed under
the direction of the Street Supervisor, who issues work orders and
inspects work in progress and upon completion for adherence to work
orders and accepted standards of workmanship. Crew Leaders are
expected to complete routine assignments without detailed
supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal
for this position, but not to be construed as exclusive or allĀ
inclusive. Other duties may be required as assigned. Supervises
personnel and the use of equipment in the repair, resurfacing,
backfilling, patching, and maintenance of streets, bridges, curbs,
gutters, sidewalks, drainage systems, sign installation, and street
surface painting. Organizes and schedules all necessary resources
required to accomplish job assignments and coordinate daily
operational needs with the Plans, distributes, monitors, and
follows-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are
serviced per company standards and Manages end-of-day check-in
process, captures and communicates key services, safety, and
equipment issues. Prepares written and oral reports for Conducts
Root Cause Investigations for all injuries and incidents, ensuring
consistent discipline and retraining. Performs other duties as
required and/or Perform inspections of completed work in the
assigned area of Receives and resolves complaints related to
activities in the assigned area of responsibility. Leads, directs,
and assists personnel with daily functions and operations of a work
crew, including securing the necessary equipment, to ensure safe,
effective, and efficient operations and completion of assigned
projects. Ability to operate a variety of trucks, heavy equipment,
and hand tools in the construction, repair, and maintenance of City
streets and related Monitors and completes a variety of logs,
documents, purchase requests, permits, and inventory tracking for
materials, permissions, and equipment usage on all projects.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS High
School diploma or equivalent Between five and ten years of
experience in performing related work. Some experience in the
supervision of Labor Crews and the use of Proficiency in Microsoft
Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Considerable
knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in
maintenance and service operations, including some specialized
knowledge in the area the Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and
how it relates to the hazards and safety equipment of the work.
Knowledge of standard and common construction practices and methods
related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of City
streets and related projects Ability to understand and follow oral
and written Ability to prioritize and allocate work Ability to read
and interpret documents related to the construction, repair, and
maintenance of City streets and related Ability to communicate and
use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors,
and the public to convey information and to receive work Excellent
written and oral communication Physical strength and Regularly
requires frequent standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and
walking while performing certain assigned tasks. Valid, current CDL
